HET LANSWELVAARE (THE PROSPERITY OF THE COUNTRY)
Kerkstraat 52 Monnickendam

In 1763 Pieter Hendriks Grobben became inspector
of the four biggest rope-walks of Monnickendam.
One of them was called HET LANSWELVAARE.
It was the name of the largest rope-walk in this town.
It is supposed that this man had the stone tablet made,
because it reminded him of his past as a sailor.
